Samford University ADPi Sorority (AL) Raises $73,000
Dr. Andy Westmoreland, University President
“This is another example of the ways our students serve our community and the world. Here it’s active philanthropy because they’re stuffing food packets used throughout the world to help people have good nutrition.”
Westminster Christian Academy (LA) Raises $204,000
Merida Brooks, Superintendent
“Our school had never raised more than $75,000 in my previous 29 years at WCA. The partnership with Don Carmichael’s team was exceptional. They shared our love and had a deep heart for our people and success. We raised $400,000 in two years and shipped 60,000 meals overseas. This event was one of the most meaningful experiences in the history of our school and a top highlight of my career.”
Bamalax Boys Lacrosse (AL) Raises $114,000
Matt Aiken, Board Chair
“We’re a small organization of 101 boys aged 9-15 who play competitive lacrosse. It’s expensive for our families to pay for equipment, field rentals and tournament travel and had never raised more than $25,000 doing traditional fundraisers. Our meal-packing event was extraordinary – it engaged our families, gave us a cause greater than ourselves, taught our boys how fortunate they are compared to other children around the world and attracted several TV stations for fantastic media coverage.”
Strait Paths Foundation (PA) Raises $183,000
Steve Stuzman, President
“We are a small Christian counseling ministry to Amish and Mennonites in the rural town of Ronks PA (pop. 350). We have enjoyed many years of successful professional partnership and friendship with Don Carmichael and his organization. Our event was highly engaging as anyone could participate, and it was the perfect expression of our hearts to serve others.”
Spring Valley School (AL) Raises $154,000
Dr. Laura Fiveash, Executive Director
“Spring Valley is a small school of 63 students with learning differences. Prior to meeting Mr. Carmichael, our most successful fundraiser was an auction that raised $40,000. We set an aggressive goal to raise $75,000 on our meal packing event – and were we amazed when we raised $154,000! Their team was very supportive of our cause, and the media benefit to our small school was substantial.”
Dayton Christian Schools (OH) Raises $184,000
Bob Elliott, CEO
“DCS is a flagship Christian school in the United States. Our board and parents loved the meal-packing idea and how it could involve our students in a significant mission fundraiser. The event process taught them about high-poverty cultures and gave them a chance to literally make a difference around the world. It was far more rewarding and profitable than our prior fundraisers. Because the packing party is held indoors, we were able to conduct the event in the middle of winter – with snow on the ground!”
